Lest Ye Forget

You have a job to do tomorrow. You need to vote for the little bear in the cutest baby contest, please, and do it like you mean it.

Voting starts at 10AM central standard time and end at 9AM on Saturday morning.

Yes, you'll have to register online to vote, but I'll make it easy by posting a link here tomorrow morning that will go directly to Linus's page so you won't have to sort through the other 199 wee ones to get to the bear. Plus, sometimes babies sort of look a lot alike, and I'd hate for you to vote for the wrong kid. You know?

In other news:

-The ear surgery has been rescheduled (which is perhaps not the correct term to use, since apparently it was never scheduled in the first place...) for next Thursday, March 26th. So THEN you can cross your collective fingers for smooth sailing.

-Linus pulled himself up for the first time today! It was especially great because Dan and I both witnessed it. But then when I was dropping Linus off at daycare, I told one of his teachers the happy news and she said, "Oh, yes! He did that over there [pointing to the wall-mounted bar that's above a wall-mounted mirror, much like a dance studio] YESTERDAY*." Thunder: stolen.

-Dan and I "celebrated" (translation: "I ate lots of Cadbury Creme Eggs while Dan had the stomach flu") our 2-year anniversary on Tuesday.

-My best friend Kate was in town last weekend, and it was glorious. She's undertaken quite the challenge in "So It Goes," her new blog. The goal: one picture, every day, for one year. Linus had the honor of being in three of said pictures. Here's one of the photos from the weekend (used without permission...um...sorry, Kate. Please don't develop a sudden passion for copyright law).

See more of Kate's handiwork here.

The Illinois game has just started! Must try to stay awake for the first half now.

The first time you see him do something is the first time he does it. If a tree falls in the woods, does it make a sound? And if a baby pulls himself up at daycare, DOES IT REALLY HAPPEN? I say no.

Your child is adorable.

Also: hi.

EXCELLENT point. I'm surprisingly good at the whole "willing suspension of disbelief" thing.
